The Women’s Health Regional Medical Specialist (RMS) is a critical position in the company, responsible for educating and supporting healthcare providers in the identification and management of patients with hereditary cancer syndromes and in prenatal genetic screening. The Women’s Health RMS functions as a field-based member of the Medical Affairs department within the Myriad Women’s Health Business Unit. In addition to working from the RMS’ home office, this full-time position requires field travel averaging 2 days/week (8 days/month). Approximately 80% of RMS time is devoted to directly supporting healthcare providers through in-person and remote interactions, including preparation and follow-up. Approximately 20% of RMS time is spent on special projects, cross-departmental collaboration, and other activities that support Myriad’s mission and strategic initiatives. The majority of travel is within a defined geographic area, with additional travel for educational or corporate meetings as needed.

Educate and empower healthcare providers to adopt hereditary cancer risk assessment as standard of care
Provide consistent messaging and training to healthcare providers for accurate cancer risk stratification and management
Use education and training to increase provider confidence around prenatal genetic screening
Work closely with Medical Services, Sales, Marketing and other departments to execute the goals and strategies of the company
Manage time and area needs based on corporate initiatives and Medical Affairs department objectives
Assist in the development of educational and training materials used to communicate company products and services
Board certified/Board eligible Genetic Counselor; or, Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse or Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3-5 years of hereditary cancer risk assessment experience and/or experience in prenatal genetics
Well-developed organizational, communication, presentation and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to interact effectively in a team environment and independently, regardless of personnel function or reporting responsibilities
